YOUR QUESTIONS (AND SOME OF MY OWN)

1. Who are you?

My name is Santiago Peniza Amorós, but online I’m Chanti. I’m the one responsible for everything you see on this site.

2. Why "Jaro"?

It mainly comes from Jíbaro, the Amazonian warriors. I wanted something short and punchy—a name for someone who doesn’t apologize for existing.

3. Do you do it all yourself?

Writing and art, yeah. I’m a control freak with this story. I have help from some great people for the games (TCG and Lity Loot), but the comic is my personal obsession.

4. Why does it take so long to release new chapters?

Because I’m not churning out fast food; I’m making comics. Plus, I’m designing a 307-card game and a board game at the same time. I take as long as I need to so that when you finally read it, it’s actually worth it.

5. How long have you been at this?

The idea was born in 2003. I started drawing seriously in 2011. I’ve spent half my life with Jaro in my head. This isn’t some weekend whim.

6. Do you have a lot of stuff that didn't make the cut?

Over 800 pages in the trash. I’ve rewritten and redrawn this a thousand times. If it’s not excellent, you don’t see it. Simple as that.

7. The million-dollar question: How old are you?

I’m 41. Born November 7, 1984. Yeah, I know what my face looks like. I own a mirror. But the ID doesn’t lie, and neither does my back.

8. What do you draw with?

Software: Clip Studio Paint EX (I’ve been loyal since the Manga Studio 4 days). Hardware: Wacom Cintiq 24 PRO. Setup cost: Anywhere from $8 to $15,000, depending on the day and who you ask.

9. Hey, what’s Jaro’s deal with the... gross stuff?

He’s not obsessed. He mentions it twice in the whole story. Read the comic and you’ll get the context. Don’t be so soft—it’s a war, not a tea party.

10. Will this ever end?

Yes. The script is locked. Roughly 6 seasons of 12 chapters each (estimated). I know how it ends. I’m not going to drag it out until it loses its flavor. When it’s over, I’m retiring to a mountain in Italy where no one can find me.

11. What’s the deal with the games (TCG and Lity Loot)?

The comic ends, but the universe lives on. The TCG will keep growing with expansions and tournaments. Jaro TCG isn’t merch—it’s a competitive system built to last for years. And Lity Loot… well, Lity Loot is for when you want to lose friends fast.

12. I have a question that isn't listed here...

Jump into the Discord and ask. If the question is actually good (be original, please), I’ll answer and maybe add it to the list.
